In the 1940s, Rosie the Riveter became an American cultural icon, encouraging all able-bodied women and men to join the workforce in all types of careers. Working in munitions factories and shipyards, the power of both women and men in the economy was apparent. More than 80 years later, there is a worker shortage in STEM related fields. The We Can Do It STEM Scholarship was established by Pamela Wiggins in 2021 to encourage others to enter STEM fields.

Chancellor Stephen J. Daily Legay Scholarship

Steve Daily began his career at Ivy Tech as the Logansport site manager in December 1995. In July 1996, he was named executive dean of what was then known as Region 5, and in 2000, he became chancellor of what now is the Kokomo Campus, which includes campuses and operational sites in Kokomo, Logansport, Peru, and Rochester. This scholarship was created by staff, faculty, friends and family of Chancellor Steve Daily.

This scholarship was created by Rita Jackson in memory of her maternal grandparents, Grace and Oliver Brunson. Oliver worked on the C&O railroad and Grace was a homemaker. Although neither attended college, they knew the importance of education and how it can bring hope.
