Participation
Students who will complete their degree requirements at the end of Fall 2024, Spring 2025, or Summer 2025 semesters may participate. There is no summer Commencement Ceremony.
Apply to Graduate
Be sure to apply to graduate to be awarded your credential and receive Commencement Ceremony communications. Go to MyIvy and search Apply to Graduate.

When inquiring about commencement or graduation, it’s important to note the difference between the two terms.
- Graduation is the completion of your degree
- Commencement is the ceremony where you are recognized for having graduated
Congratulations, graduates!
What you need to do to graduate:
- Successfully complete all of the required courses for your degree program
- Maintain a GPA of 2.0 or higher
- Complete any other graduation requirements your program might include

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)

Students will not receive their diplomas at commencement. Diplomas are sent to students in the mail approximately 6-8 weeks after the completion of the degree.

Pictures were taken of each student as they were receiving their diploma cover. You are under no obligation to purchase any pictures. You will receive more information directly from the photographer a few weeks after commencement. Please make sure your address is correct in MyIvy and check your Ivy Tech email address for communications from the photographer.

Where to Order:
You must have a cap and gown as well as a tassel in order to participate in the ceremony. Students who do not have a cap and gown will not be permitted to participate, so pay close attention to the ordering deadlines. If you require assistance in acquiring your cap and gown, please fill out this form.
CAP & GOWN DEADLINES:
1st Deadline: April 7
2nd/Final Deadline: April 17
