Industrial Career Academy (ICA)
Ivy Tech Community College Lafayette is partnering with Indiana Next Generation Manufacturing Competitiveness Center (IN-MaC), West Central Indiana Career & Technical Education, and local industry to create the Industrial Career Academy (ICA) at our Crawfordsville Satellite Location. Earn college credits from Ivy Tech in high school and access opportunities for on-the-job training and paid internships through participation in the ICA.

Get hands-on with learning with the Industrial Career Academy. Students in the ICA will explore industry 4.0 technologies such as artificial intelligence (AI), human to robot collaboration, big data, safety, electrical, sensors, digital integration, fluid power, robot operation, measurement, CAD, CNC, additive manufacturing, print reading, and technical mathematics. Emerging technologies that make the manufacturing world ever-changing will be introduced to students. These technologies include mechatronics robots, programmable automation, cloud technologies, networking, big data, and analytics.
During the duration of the career academy, students are connected with industry partners for exclusive opportunities for on-the-job training and paid internships.

Lakeside desperately needs skills that are no longer the top focus in our schools. With the ICA, students will learn critical, basic skills that are more in demand than ever in our society. With Lakeside, they will learn about the trade of book making, gain insight into career opportunities at Lakeside and experience practical application of Ivy Tech and West Central CTE pathway topics in a real world setting. They will also have the opportunity to work towards paid apprentice internships in our facility to learn alongside our most seasoned craftsmen and women. An earn-while-you-learn model can be highly successful for both students and industry! Lakeside Book Company has employed that exact model for nearly 100 years right here in Crawfordsville, so they know what they are doing.Lakeside is very excited to work with Ivy Tech and West Central CTE to offer students an alternative to college or to leaving our communities to forge a career.
