Employers Want Our Grads
Ivy Tech has strong relationships with local employers in our communities to ensure these sought after employers understand the quality of graduates produced by the Mechanical Engineering Technology program. Some organizations that have employed our graduates include:
Associate Degree – Transferable Degree
Mechanical engineers are great at fixing things. Whether it is a broken appliance or a faulty engine, mechanical engineers are hands-on professionals who work to solve problems. With an Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology, you can either use your skills to enter the workforce in a hands-on applied engineering position or you can transfer seamlessly to a four-year university to earn your bachelor's degree.
Graduates of the AS in Mechanical Engineering Technology degree program can also choose to transfer to a four-year college or university where they can earn a bachelor’s degree. The AS in Mechanical Engineering is designated as a TSAP program (which stands for “Transfer Single Articulation Pathway”), which enables students to transfer to Indiana public four-year institutions with automatic junior status. You can save upward of $10,000 by completing your first two years at Ivy Tech and then transferring to a four-year college.
Talk to our transfer advocates for information about continuing your education after completing your degree at Ivy Tech.
Note that admission is not guaranteed just by enrolling in the AS in Mechanical Engineering Technology. You will need to be admitted to the institution you intend to transfer to. Learn more about Transfer as a Junior (TSAP) programs
Time to Complete
An Associate of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology degree can be achieved in 4 semesters, or about two years.
