ABOUT THE ALL-USA/ALL-INDIANA ACADEMIC SCHOLARSHIPS
In 1991, Phi Theta Kappa, USA TODAY, and the American Association of Community Colleges (AACC) launched the All-USA Academic Teams for Community and Junior Colleges competition. The program accepts nominations from each campus affiliated with one of the six regionally accrediting bodies. Contestants are scored in three categories: 1) academic recognition honors and awards; 2) activities and leadership, community service, and work experience; and 3) student essays. A national panel of judges evaluates the contestants. There are 5 types of scholarships you may be eligible for!
Once students apply for the All-USA Academic Team Scholarships, they are then considered for the All-Indiana Academic Team Scholarships. Each campus has nominated up to two students who are on a transfer path and two students who are on a workforce path to receive this honor.
The highest-scoring transfer pathway All-USA applicant from each state is named a New Century Scholar. These 50 students receive a $2,250 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and are honored at the 2024 American Association of Community Colleges convention.
The highest-scoring workforce pathway All-USA applicant from each state is named a New Century Scholar. These 50 students receive a $1,250 scholarship from the Coca-Cola Foundation and the Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation and are honored at the 2024 annual Association of Community College Trustees Congress.
The Coca-Cola Scholars Foundation sponsors the Coca-Cola Community College Academic Team. Nationally, 50 students are named Gold Scholars, each receiving a $1,500 scholarship; 50 are Silver Scholars, each receiving a $1,250 scholarship; and 50 are Bronze Scholars, each receiving a $1,000 scholarship.
Ivy Tech Foundation Scholars are the highest-scoring All-USA applicants in Indiana who are not New Century or Coca-Cola Scholars. Up to three students who are on a transfer path and three on a workforce path may receive this honor and a $500 scholarship.
