Indy Women’s Initiative Mentorship Program

Ivy Tech Indianapolis’ Department of Diversity, Equity & Belonging offers a retention program called the Indy Women’s Initiative (IWI). Designed to support all women, IWI has a particular focus on helping students from marginalized communities.

In partnership with Pass the Torch for Women, the mentorship program of IWI selected 25 student mentees for its inaugural year.

As a student in this program, you will have the opportunity to hear from motivational speakers, attend workshops, connect with your peers, gain access to a professional network, enhance your skill set, and learn from central Indiana’s most influential women.

What are the expectations for mentors and mentees?

  • Participate in at least 75% of the activities.
  • Complete two virtual education modules through Pass the Torch each semester.
  • Engage with your assigned mentor throughout the spring semester.
  • Communicate your academic needs to program directors as issues arise.

As a mentor, if your mission is to support women as they navigate their personal and professional journeys, you are encouraged to apply!

IWI mentors are women who have a heart for mentorship. You have demonstrated success within your career and can dedicate one hour per month to empowering our future through fostering new relationships.
